
Another busy spring week for the Pirates!


The Brown City High School Track invitational has been canceled for tonight due to the weather. There is no make up date at this time. ☔️☔️

Mrs. George and Ms. Schelke’s (Mrs. Richard’s) PreK 4/5 preschool class would like to do a Community Service project for our upcoming field trip on May 28th, 2024. They will be going to Saving Grace Miniature Horse Rescue (https://www.sgminihorserescue.com/). The preschool class would like to take some items that are on their wish list with them to donate to their rescue. This will give the kids experience in giving instead of receiving, the kids are very excited about taking items down to donate to help out with the care of the horses. This field trip will help them learn about how to care for and help an animal in need. If you would like to help our little ones out by donating you may drop off items in the Elementary or High school office.

It was a solid night at the diamond for our baseball and softball teams last night!

Varsity baseball and softball kicked off their seasons yesterday against Bad Axe! Take advantage of today's beautiful weather and come watch them play at home vs Vassar tonight at 4:00pm!

The home varsity baseball/softball games originally scheduled for Thursday, April 11, against Vassar are rescheduled for today, starting at 4:00 p.m. (still at HB).

For K-5 students, paper report cards were sent home Friday.
For students in grades 6-12, grades will only be on Skyward for MP3 (no paper report cards mailed home). Paper report cards will be sent for ALL students at the end of each semester (January and June).

Harbor Beach Community Schools is proud to announce that we will providing solar glasses for students to view the upcoming Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8th. We will begin the viewing experience around 2:15PM. Students will be dismissed at the end of the day as normal at 2:49PM. We strongly encourage you to review the safety information attached to keep you and your students' eyes safe.

Today is National Paraprofessional Appreciation Day! We are eternally grateful for the fantastic paraprofessionals here at HBCS!

Congrats to the first female powerlifters in HBHS history: Hailey Bishop (L) and Ava Woodward (R)!
Hailey: 2024 State Qualifier; 510 lbs. at state finals! "Although I had many early mornings of waking up and going to meets, I had an amazing time meeting new friends and lifting heavy weight."
Ava: "395 was my most lifted at a meet. I've never had more fun in any other sport. I can't wait for next year!"


Due to the snow day before break, the elementary wrapped up reading month this morning. Their reading goal was 3,000 books read by the end of the month. PreK- 5th grade crushed the goal with 3,180 books read! Students earned a new Harbor Beach Pirates shirt for achieving their goal! Teachers chose one student from each grade that has been working really hard on their reading and went above and beyond for reading month. These students recevied a reading pillow made and donated by Mary Booms, substitude teacher. Thank you Mary!
