You have likely heard about the Kid's Kloset located inside of HBCS. The PR class sat down with Mrs. Talaski to learn more about this phenomenal resource!
Tell us more about the Kid's Kloset:
The Kid's Kloset has been in existence in some capacity since 1999 but has grown immensely which has led to several relocations including the most recent one, in the spacious former art room. It is a home of support, providing students and community members with essential items, all free of charge.
What makes the Kid's Kloset possible?
Donations from the community! We also received a recent donation from the Harbor Beach Athletic Association and were awarded a grant from the Huron County Community Foundation. These were used to purchase more racks, personal hygiene products, and supplies.
Who is responsible for keeping the Kid's Kloset neat and organized?
myself (Mrs. Talaski), some volunteers, and my students
How can people donate their clothes?
You can drop them off during school hours at either office.
When can people shop?
-during school hours, call the HS office to set up a time
-after school hours, contact Bob Wruble or Lynn Siemen
What sizes and types of clothing are available?
A very wide variety! We have shorts, tank tops, hats, gloves, snow gear, etc! Clothing ranges in size from 4T all the way through men's and women's XXXL.
Which items are in the most demand?
Hats, coats, boots, and other winter items are in the highest demand.
A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Talaski, her volunteers, and her students for providing this resource for our community!
Congratulations to our history-making varsity football team on clinching the first-ever Big Thumb Conference Black Division league title Friday night!
Miss picture day? Not a fan of how your first picture turned out? Don't forget that tomorrow is Retake Day!
It's National School Lunch Week! We are so lucky here at HBCS to have a fantastic lunch program free to all PreK-12 students.
While school lunch is free this year, it is still crucial for our families to complete and return the Free/Reduced application since it impacts so many other funding sources. If you haven't done so yet, you can print a copy here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vRbBJU9oPR9niBqOcFr8GvCEcRuUFX3YAbMoefYn1kSCY1TKmIaW3EvGBz65mPVIFncWTFG83lhUD0f/pub or stop in and visit our secretaries to get a printed copy!
It is a busy week of parent-teacher conferences, the book fair, and PSAT/SAT testing!
