Last night, the Harbor Beach Education Endowments (HBEE) signed an agreement with Huron County Community Foundation (HCCF) to form in part the Pirate Fund. With donations from the Harbor Beach Athletic Association and other contributors, the HB Pirate Fund has reached the $10,000 minimum required to spark activities and scholarships to benefit students. A huge and ambitious goal of the HBEE is partnering with the HCCF and a financial institution to create Child Savings Accounts which means every HBCS student will receive a monetary amount from the fund. A generous donation from the Storrs Family Trust makes this possible. The sincere intent of the HBEE is that every child who attends HBCS will receive a financial benefit from the Storrs Family donation upon successful graduation. Today is only the beginning of a very energetic endeavor of many people including the HB Board of Education, Administration and Community Members. This dedication to students is a prime example of our Pirate culture!
